Kristen Anne Bell (born 1980) is an American actor and singer. Her birthplace and childhood was in Huntington Woods, Michigan, and is the daughter of Lorelei (Frygier), a nurse, and Tom Bell, a television news director. Her heritage includes Polish (mother) as well as German, English, Irish, and Scottish (father). Kristen's talents for performing were found at a young age. Her audition was in 1992 and got the role of Raggedy Ann, and Andy. Bell's mother introduced her to an agent before she was 13 and she was cast in television advertisements for newspapers and commercials. At this time Bell also started private acting lessons. Bell played a small part that was not credited to her on the film Polish Wedding (1998), in 1998. Bell was part of the music and drama clubs at Shrine Catholic High School. She was the star of Dorothy in her high school's production of The Wizard of Oz. Bell attended New York City for the Tisch School of the Arts for a musical theater course upon graduating. Bell was a graduate in 2001, decided to leave her university studies to perform her role as Becky on Tom Sawyer. Bell made her debut film credits in Pootie Tang during 2001. The scene however it was cut and Bell's only role is the end credits. Bell was in the film with Angela Bettis, Liam Neeson as well as in the Broadway performance of The Crucible in 2002.
