Awkwafina An American actor and singer, began with humorous rap tracks dealing with issues related to sexuality and race. The career of the singer and actress grew to Hollywood when she dropped several rap songs. Born Nora Lum to Chinese and Korean immigrant parents from Forest Hills Queens her first experience with music came via trumpet. Later, she began traditional and hip-hop training. While at school, she majored in journalism, and women's studies, and was learning Mandarin in Beijing during a brief time. Her focus shifted to music once she completed her degree. The latter song was linked directly with another Awkwafina project NYC A travel guide that was released in the year 2015. Alongside being a published author, her other career was as a performer. Her film credits include films such as Neighbors 2, Storks, and Bad Rap. In the year 2018, she was offered several breakthrough roles, such as Dude Ocean's 8, or Crazy Rich Asians. The EP debuted in June.
